The daughter of a hard-working immigrant family, Dr. Vy knew from an early age that she wanted to be a dentist. Her work life began when she got a job as a strawberry picker in third grade—and hasn’t stopped since. A graduate of Oregon Health and Sciences University School of Dentistry, she displayed a natural talent for endodontic surgery and was one of just three students accepted into the OHSU program and residency in that specialization, which she completed in 2003.
Dr. Vy has been practicing in the Beaverton area ever since and was able to fulfill a major life goal with the construction of her beautiful, state-of-the-art office on SE Division. Also an assistant professor at OHSU School of Dentistry, she lives in Portland with her husband, daughter and son. Dr. Vy is fluent in Vietnamese.
“I want people to feel like they’re special,” says Dr. Vy. “When I work with a patient, I always think, ‘If this was my tooth, what would I do?’ And that’s what I do.”
